The 4 Things You Can Expect Before Having a Heart Attack
When you think about a heart attack, you may put a little bit of Hollywood flair into your imagination.

You may picture someone walking along peacefully…minding their own business…when it hits…  The BIG ONE!

They immediately clutch their chest, scream in pain, and collapse to the ground—motionless.

They almost always DIE, or if they do make it, they are hooked up to machines all the time.

Is that what you picture?

The truth is:  Just like everything else, Hollywood tends to go overboard.  The fact is, not everyone dies from their heart attack.
And not everyone has painful chest pains, or even left arm numbness.

So here we are…

Heart Attacks and Your Health

No one wants to have a heart attack.  In fact, if you ask most people, they would say they are more scared of having a heart attack than they are about developing cancer.

Although true, it’s pretty crazy.  But the statistics don’t lie.  One out of every FOUR people will have a heart attack.

The numbers get even scarier when you look at recurring heart attacks or even the number of people who DIE (in the hundreds of thousands) from a heart attack each year.

And to make matters worse, these numbers are continuing to go up each year.

But this article is not about why or even who is going to have a heart attack.

This article is about the signs or symptoms that may occur right before a heart attack occurs..
1. Chest Discomfort of Tightness

This is a classic symptom that may occur in most heart attacks.  Notice how I said MOST.

Not all heart attacks have the typical symptoms, such as chest pain or tightness, which is often a good indicator that something bad may happen soon.

The pain is located in the middle of the chest (right where the heart is) and can last for a few seconds to much longer.  It could feel like a heavy weight in your chest, pressure, or even tightness.

Also, it can come and go, making it that much harder to determine what the pain is from.  If you’ve had chest pain for more than a few hours—and it’s only getting worse—then you may want to be checked out to rule out a heart attack.

2. Discomfort in the Upper Body

Your heart has a big job! It sends blood all through your body, until it reaches the heart again.

It repeats this process all the time (if not, you’d be dead). One of the first areas that you would expect to feel it first would be your upper body.

In fact, you may feel pain in your chest, jaw, left or even right arm, upper back, chin, and in your stomach.
This could be caused by ischemia or when there is not enough oxygen-rich blood moving through your body.  It could also be caused by a blockage, which again prevents nutrient-rich blood from getting to the rest of your body.

Any unusual pain should be discussed with your doctor.

3. Shortness of Breath

A sure sign that you’re having a heart attack is shortness of breath.  Now, I am not talking about shortness of breath associated with intense exercise.

I am talking about shortness of breath that occurs when you’re just standing there, or going from a standing to laying position.  If you find that you’re short of breath, without doing any type of exercise, then it could be a deadly sign.

Also, shortness of breath could come with—or without—chest pain, so be very careful if you notice this symptom persists over time.
4. Other Signs

Everyone is different when it comes to having a heart attack.  Classic symptoms (like chest pain, jaw pain, left arm numbness) may not be present with everyone.

In fact, there are plenty of other symptoms that may be cause for concern.   These signs may include:

• Breaking out in a cold sweat
• Nausea without vomiting
• Light headedness
• Fatigue
• Mid and lower back pain

All these are less common signs that there could be an issue with your heart and you’re not getting enough blood to the rest of your body.

Do NOT Avoid These Heart Attack Signs

Even though everyone is different when it comes to heart attacks, the consensus is clear:  You don’t want to have a heart attack—or even miss the symptoms that could be associated with poor heart health.

The four signs above could be clear indicators that you should be checked out or seen in the local ER.

Even though controlling cholesterol and blood pressure are keys to PREVENTING a heart attack, things can still happen.  The simple fact is:

If you’re not feeling right, or you have any one of the symptoms above, then you may want to call your doctor and be seen right away.

BUT:

Preventing a heart attack is key to preventing a heart attack in the first place.  Controlling things like blood pressure and cholesterol could go a long way to reducing your risk of a heart attack.

However, some people don’t have the time—or the willpower—to change their diet and start exercising in order to improve their heart health.

And this could cause issues in the future.

That’s why, on the next page, I am going to show you the first thing you should take in order to improve your heart health—without changing your diet or exercising.
