5 Reasons You Should Have Sex Tonight—For Your Heart Health
I am going to give you a MAJOR reason why you should be having more sex.

Not that you need the encouragement…

…but there is a pretty good reason why you should be having more fun in between the sheets:

Your HEART!  Listen, everyone knows that sex is a great way to connect with your partner in a mood intimate setting.

There is nothing like the closeness you feel with you’re in the throes of lovemaking—it’s truly wonderful.

BUT:

Most people don’t know—or even think to realize—that having sex is great for your heart.  In fact, here are some of the top ways sex may be able to improve your heart health:

1. It's Great Cardio

Before I get into the details on how sex is a form of cardio, there is something you do need to understand:

The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week.

This is the recommended amount that has been shown to elicit a change in your health—including your heart health.

Now, let’s get back to sex for a moment…
If you’re not a fan of treadmills or bikes, then you should think about spending more time in between the sheets.

Sex, on average, is considered a moderate-intensity exercise that is very low impact on the joints.  It burns roughly 3 calories per minute (can lose some weight too).

A 20-minute session could be the equivalent of walking 1 mile!

Sex may lower your blood pressure, strengthen your heart, and could even reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes.

2. Reduces Your Risk for a Heart Attack

As you get older, you may be worried that having sex may put you at risk for a heart attack.  Well, you can be assured that having sex will NOT cause a heart attack.

In fact, a healthy sex life may DECREASE your risk for a major cardiac event.   A recent study tracked middle-aged men, their sex life, and if they had a heart attack or not.

They found that men who had sex at least twice a week (or more), were less likely to have a heart attack when compared to men who had sex once a month.

3. it Reduces STRESS Levels

Having sex has a tremendous impact on your stress levels.  In fact, having sex releases those feel-good hormones that lower stress and anxiety levels.

So how does this help your heart?

Although sex is fun, when you’re with your partner, your stress and anxiety may decrease, therefore lowering your risk for heart-related issues.
4. Keeps You Connected to Loved Ones

Did you know that people who are lonely significantly increased their risk for a heart attack?  Its true!

People who are lonely may be at a greater risk for developing heart-related health issues.

But having sex, and getting all those feel-good hormones moving, could give your heart some pretty tremendous benefits.

4. Helps You Sleep Better

Everyone needs a good night’s sleep.  Poor sleep habits have been associated with an increase in your stress levels, poor health, weight gain, and even issues with your heart.

However, a good romp in the sack (and those feel—good hormones) may actually help relax your body, enabling you to get better, more quality sleep.
According to an Australian study, 65 percent of people reported better sleep after having an orgasm.  The more sleep you can get, then better your heart health may become.

The Take Home Message

Sex is a natural and fun experience—and the more you have it, the better it may be for your health.  And that includes your heart health!

Numerous studies confirm that sex may lower your risk for heart attacks, high blood pressure, and could lower your risk for type 2 diabetes.

Even though it is considered a moderate-intensity exercise, it is very low impact and could strengthen your heart in the same way as regular cardio.

If you’re looking to improve your heart health, then you may want to consider increasing the amount of sex you’re currently having.

But I must warn you…

There is one issue that may occur that could limit the amount of sex you could be having.  It has nothing to do with your body or your joints…

…but it has to do with a powerful hormone—testosterone--that dictates if and when you can have sex.
