Here's Why You Can't Keep the Weight Off After You've Lost It
You lost a ton of weight—congrats!  You look amazing…and you feel amazing.  Your confidence is through the roof and you can’t seem to keep the smile off your face.

Everything is going well expect for one thing…

You’re always HUNGRY!  You try to “feed the beast,” but you’re worried that the weight is going to come back on.

And for good reason…most people who lose a lot of weight, may experience a weight rebound.

It may not be everything you lost, but it could be a few pounds over the course of a few months.

After you’ve lost weight, you could really struggle to keep the weight off.  And the main reason (as mentioned before) is because you’re hungry!

According to a new study, hunger could be the main reason why people (men and women) have a hard time keeping the weight off!

The Study

Researchers took on 40 obese participants.  Each one had a BMI greater than 40.  Each person attended five, three-week long sessions over the course of two years.

Each participant was coached on proper eating habits and daily exercise was strongly encouraged.  Blood work was completed on all participants looking at the satisfaction hormones after four weeks, one year, and two years post-study completion.

Now, here’s where things get interesting:

As expected, all the participants lost weight.   Most of them were able to keep the weight off during the entire two-year process.  However, they always felt hungry.   At the end of the study, researchers found that most of the self-reported feelings of fullness dropped and the feelings of hunger increased.

Why would this happen?
It could be an evolutionary response.   It’s built into our DNA to respond to feelings of hunger.  When you lose a lot of weight, your body (in stress and fear) tries to protect itself by stimulating hunger so you eat more.

And when you eat more, you will eventually gain weight.  This helps to protect your body so you have enough energy to survive.

But:

This study was a little bit different in that BOTH the hunger hormone and the satiety hormones increased in all participants—just the hunger hormone signal was a little bit stronger.

And when you’re constantly hungry—or your body is telling you that you need to eat— it may be pretty darn hard not to give into temptation and start eating more.

When that happens, you would expect your weight to increase!  So what can you do to stop this from occurring?

Well, I am so glad you asked…

How to Feel Full and Prevent Over-eating on a Diet

When you lose a lot of weight, it’s going to be a struggle to keep it off.  Not because you don’t want to, but because you may have an overabundance of hunger hormones in your body.

And this could prevent you from keeping the weight off.  However, there are some things you can do to prevent your hunger hormones from ruining your healthy body plans.

In fact, here are the most common ways to prevent hunger hormones from ruining your journey:

1. Optimize your Meals

If you want to slow down your hunger hormones, then you need to make protein and fiber an integral component to your nutrition plan.

When the hunger pangs strike, increase your protein at your meals and load up with plenty of non-starchy carbs like berries, melon, or a variety of vegetables.

This should help relieve some of the hunger feelings you experience and keep your ideal body weight goals in check.

2. Drink Plenty of Water

You’ve probably heard that drinking 8, 8-ounce glasses of water each day will help you lose weight.

Well, it will also help you prevent hunger from derailing your weight loss program.  Water helps to fill up your stomach before and after a meal, which leaves only a little room in there for food.

It’s recommended to drink water before and after a meal in order to increase the feeling of fullness at mealtime.

Not sure if this will work for you?  A recent study showed that participants who drank water 30 minutes before a meal, lost up to 3 pounds MORE than those who didn’t drink water before a meal.

Now, sure it may not work for you, but are you one to go against research?  .

3. Control Stress

Stress is often a killer when it comes to putting weight back on.  Stress, which results in higher cortisol, may increase weight around your belly.

It may also increase your cravings for not-so-healthy foods that could easily lead to increased weight gain and a harder time reaching your ideal weight.

Meditation, guided imagery, and other forms of stress reduction could be keys to keeping the hunger at bay while keeping your weight loss on track.
The Final Steps

Guys, if you’re unhappy with your body, then you need to take the steps to change it now.  Doing more strength training and watching what you eat are keys to a healthy body weight.

However, most people who lose weight may have a hard time keeping it off.  The reason: HUNGER!

If you focus on eating more protein and fiber, reducing your stress, and drinking more water, you may be able to keep that hungry feeling from destroying your transformation journey.

But:

If you’re over 30, you may need a push in the right direction.  You see, once you hit your 30s, you may start to notice a decline in energy, stamina, and muscle mass.

And this can be alarming.  But if you take the right steps, you may be able to maximize your time at the gym, eliminate your beer belly, and have the energy of a teenager again.

On the next page, there is a short presentation showing you exactly how to REVERSE age-associated weight gain.  Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!  .
